This year, one of my best friends and I, held our joint 24th birthday at Peckham Springs. As a Peckham local, I had seen this bar from the station when I do my usual morning commute and knowing that the other hugely popular rooftop bar, Franks, would be likely to be incredibly busy, we decided to head to the equally popular but decidedly less rooftop bar, Peckham Springs (see review here).
Located next to an art gallery, it is fair to say that you wouldn’t know how to get to this bar if you didn’t already know – it is a bit of hidden gem. Just around the corner from the station, you have to cut under the railway bridge to get there.
Once you have arrived, the bar has a very industrial feel, and offers a great and very reasonable drinks menu including Negronis, Aperol Spritz, and a bonus for me, Prosecco.
The relaxed feel of the bar, and the fact that we arrived pretty early meant that we were able reserve a large outside area which was perfect in the June sunshine. A whole host of friends and family came to help us celebrate in what turned out to be a lovely, if somewhat alcohol fuelled (for all) evening.
I will definitely be returning.
